Purchased the Keylab 88 not knowing what to expect. It feels like a concert grand piano, velocity sensitive, after touch everything as advertised. I already had the big Arturia software package when I ordered this and it hooked right up with the laptop and was very simple to configure. I am just using it straight up with an M-Audio USB-MIDI-Analog_Audio converter and a laptop and it doesn't have a sound card. I get no noticeable delay when pressing a key on the KeyLab and hearing the tone come out of the PA system. I'm going MIDI out to the M-Audio, USB from the M-Audio to the Laptop and also USB from the laptop to the KeyLab 88 for power. You can power this big beautiful machine with a laptop USB cable. No need to plug a 9 volt adapter into it. I have the full analog synth suite from Arturia and I can get about 6000+ factory preset sounds, but all of these are infinitely adaptable/adjustable with the sliders and the controls on the KeyLab, or by manipulating the software on the PC. The only limitations are your mind, and the amount of disk-space you have on your computer. If there are any negatives I wish they would have provided one more adapter to be able to mount on the side of the keyboard to have a place for the computer mouse. Overall a very solid product, incredibly flexible, easy to set up and run even if you are complete novice to MIDI and the build quality is superb, the keys feel like you're playing a 200,000 dollar grand piano, this is no plastic toy, this is a serious, professional instrument.Read full review
