Light, made from an original Leixen battery case so fitting and compatibility is not a worry. Can't say if product will last since component inside seems VERY light but,the radio is already running on 12V. Taking that into consideration, the quality and durability is less of a concern. It's a big money saver if you can afford to use 16 analogue channels, you have THE most powerful HT and in an instant, the radio becomes a mobile one with more than respectable output power. Since the voltage/current is always optimal, your radio will ALWAYS perform at its very best. I strongly recommend it to any one who owns a Leixen note 25W. It's must...really.

This radio has a very good operating range and the reception is VERY clear. I have heard some police radios reception and this one is much better. So far, I have used this 5 miles away from my home and the reception was very good. It is a little heaver and bigger than the standard Puxing radios, but the battery capacity and radio construction is awesome. Lots of features I haven't had time to try and program it yet.

It is a big HT and i cannot got it to program using a PC. However, I can connect simplex on 2 meter and 70 cm to radios 40+ miles away. I hooked it up to my swr/watt meter and yes I get 20+ watts.

With an abree antenna I'm hitting repeaters 20 miles away from long island into new jersey, clearly. Be careful using it frequently next to your face on the highest setting

I have yaesu 5 watts. Wanted to try this 25w unit. It is big and makes my yaesu look like a toy. I like it but it is big. I'll take it on trips. Especially on cruise ships.
