I bought this for birding, and am really pleased with it so far! It is quite large and is a bit unwieldy, but with a good sturdy tripod it isn't hard to use.
I LOVE the dual focus knob! The picture is clear and crisp even at 67x magnification.
I wanted to use it for digiscoping, and have had mixed results. It was difficult to use with a DSLR, but I am able to get some decent shots with a phone held up to the eyepiece - just takes a little fiddling to get it lined up right.
I attached a few pictures, all taken with my iphone 5s. The first two are at 22x mag. and the third - of rare Ross's Geese - was at 67x I believe.
It comes with a carrying case which is nice but looks a bit flimsy. We'll see how long it holds up.
It's a large scope, however not that heavy. If you want to carry in a backpack, it had better be a large one for it to fit. Excellent for daytime use as a spotting scope. Seems clear across the field. I've read that it's not easy to digiscope. I've read that it's not that good for astronomy. However, I don't plan to use it for either, so no tried.
Have used this out to 585 yards can spot 22 though 30 cal holes in target haven't shot further than that to test the scope, I have 20-15 eyesight, so you are yardage mileage may very, recommend fairly heavy tripod mine will hold 15 pounds have used this with DSLR camera with excellent results would recommend this scope
A great spotting scope with 100mm opening for bright images and long zoom 22-67X for closer look . It´s big and heavy though, so you will need a sturdy tripod! Comes with a strong protective case and T2 adapter for your camera.Excellent for birdwatching!
