    Excellent all rounder from emg

    Just fitted emg hz set of pickups from dont_tell_the_wife_guitars . Perfect for blues to metal with a full range of tones from warm to screaming highs. They are easy to fit in my SG and in a few hours I was playing again with my new hz's.. Highly recommended

    The best of both worlds: If you want that direct 'guitar into amp' tone, these beauties are for you!

    EMG-HZ 'passive' guitar pickups have the best of both worlds: The ceramic magnet-inspired clarity and definition, low magnetic pull and extreme quiet operation typical of EMG Overlend technology, and the high-impedance and lack of an onboard preamplifier stage typical of an 'average' HB pickup. If you want that direct 'guitar into amp' tone, or if you want to use your own preamp instead, these beauties are for you! They also work great with an accessory preamp like EMG's BTS and BTC preamps, which I'm running in my Steinberger to give me complete control over bass/low midrange and treble. Highly recommended for Metal, Shred, Djent, Alternative and PUNK!

    Great pickups at a great price

    These pickups are excellent-sounding and easy to install. They've improved the sound so much I've abandoned my plan to trade the guitars in. They have a well-balanced tone, clear, not overly bass-heavy and therefore not muddy.

    Nice pickups for passive!

    Nice pickups for passive. With EMG usually being known for active pickups it was a welcome experience to get hold of these passive EMG's. Plug and play and NO SOLDERING. Pickups are responsive and have good attack. I put them in an LP and they sound great clean and overdriven. "Don't tell the wife" are awesome as well!
