Great Replacement Cartridge
Well, I have an old 640 HP fax and they don't make inks for this unit anymore. This fax works great and I don't want to get rid of it just because HP DOESN'T support it anymore. So, I went searching and found this company that make reconditioned cartridges! I had no other option on taking a chance to see if was worth the risk. But, for ten bucks why not give it a try. Much to my surprise this cartridge works PERFECT!! Go ahead and give this a try and you will be shocked how well it works! For now, I'll keep my 640 HP fax, but one day I will have to look for a replacement if it malfunctions. "Iffy at best"
The first problem you'll have with these cartridges is getting your machine to accept them. Error messages pop up immediately that the level of ink is unknown. I have to play around with telling the fax the "new" cartridge is "new" or "used" depending upon which day of the week it is. Ultimately, I win and fool the machine, although a few times I have failed. Then, its anybody's guess whether there will be a full compliment of ink in the cartridge. I've had some that went a surprisingly long time before needing replacing, others quit much sooner. I like to refill cartridges from a large bottle of HP ink I bought. New cartridges will take a refill at least once, maybe twice. These cartridges "might" let you refill them once, but then they leak and make a big mess of any copies. HP gets you coming and going. Buy these cartridges and expect a hassle and mixed results. Buy new ones and get ripped off.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

This is like "good news-bad news" The good news is that this product works fine for my model HP-2140 Fax, so I bought two. The bad news is they don't make this ink cartridge any more.
