The Ranger AR 3500 Radio Transceiver is a multi-operational, computer-controlled, high-frequency amateur radio transceiver. With advanced features, the Ranger AR 3500 offers a 10-meter mono band transceiver for a crystal-clear channel, automatic scanning for favorite frequencies, and a split frequency option. Frequencies range from 28 to 30 MHz. The Ranger AR 3500 functions in five transmission modes: AM, FM, LSB, USB, and CW. The advanced design keeps it simple, offering both professionals and amateur radio users a mobile base (with the right power supply) or in-vehicle operations. With the 10-meter mono band transceiver, the Ranger AR 3500 is equipped with a microprocessor-controlled LED readout providing a clear view of frequencies. Frequency span and increments are preset. However, this awesome radio offers users the ability to change the settings whenever they please by using the handy front panel controls. This Ranger radio goes above and beyond, offering a microprocessor that allows you to personalize the experience with your own distinct requirements and preferences. For example, the AR 3500 transceiver memory stores your preferred frequencies. You are then able to scan those frequencies automatically with a single button. Or you can choose the manual option to select a specific channel. The Ranger has a five-memory channel frequency that can be saved or scanned from the memory processor. Additional features include a split-frequency option that allows you to transmit and receive two separate frequencies that you choose. The privacy features can be changed by the user as often as needed. The Ranger AR 3500 radio transceiver features a plethora of options, including easy, convenient front panel controls and a microprocessor-controlled LED readout for a clear view of frequencies. If installing inside a vehicle, attach the mounting bracket first and then attach the transceiver to the mounting bracket using the enclosed hardware. It is important to note that before fashioning electrical connections, make certain the transceiver is turned off (AF Gain Control). The AR 3500 functions with a 13.5 VDC negative ground source. If you have a vehicle with a 12-volt negative ground system, it will be more than enough power. Ensure that the vehicle is in good working condition with all electrical systems up to par before installing as issues within the vehicle itself (i.e., low battery, old generator/alternator) can affect or impair the AR 3500’s performance.
