Looks good and works great
This tripod provides a sturdy and stable mount for my 3 pound spotting scope. The one hand pan/tilt and position lock works great for quick target acquisition. The quick release mounting plate (one is included and I purchased an additional one from Vortex for $9.99) is well made an locks up with no noticeable play. If there is any possible weak component it is the plastic locking lever for the quick release plate, as mine was broken during shipping. I called Vortex and they immediately sent me a replacement. Nice Tripod, sturdy, a bit expensive, but worth it
Bought this for use with an archery target spotting scope. It’s sets up quickly, but more importantly is very stable. So far it’s been pretty good with the wind blowing and keeping the scope steady. Very satisfied with this tripod. Sturdy enough to hold my big Vortex Spotter. I want be packing this tripod in the Mountains so the size and weight doesn't bother me. Got at a decent price. Vortex Sucks
Big Con: the Vortex Optics GT Pro tripod is advertised as Vortex GT Pro. The legs are supposed to open up to three different angles. This particular tripod, the legs do not open up to the three different angles. Therefore this tripod does not serve my needs. I'm basically stuck with it.
