I use it with my IC-7300
While these are definitely Heil, they work very well for a fraction of the price. The mic boom takes a bit to shape and position to where you want it. I would not really call them noise canceling but more noise reducing. I could still hear my 2m radio while working 80m,but what do you really expect for a headset less than $60. I am very satisfied with them and would recommend them to someone that wants to use a headset but doesn't have a big budget to work with. I get good reports of sound quality back on 80m. I don't like Closed Back phones
I can hear fine and talk fine with this but my personal experience with it was disappointing. First of all there is no "in-line" mute control, which is a big deal, to mute sneezing or coughing during a call. I like over the ear style but prefer open back style of other phones so I can hear some of my natural background. I work from home and not in a cube farm so that may be why. Nice product for Amateur Radio use
I bought this for use with an ICOM IC-746 radio. It is very comfortable to wear and the microphone, in my opinion, sounds better than the CM-500 headset to which it has been compared. NOTE: This headset works with several Icom radios that use the electret microphone. Compares with the CM-500. The KOSS SB-40 will not work with the IC-746. Awsome product, performs like headsets that cost >$200. Works great on my IC-7300. Get good audio reports and you do not have to eat the mic. Much better than the WGA TR-2000 headset that I was using.
