THE SIZE IS GOOD FOR THE SPACE THAT I HAVE BUT IS NOT QUITE AS STRONG AS I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE. ALSO I'M STILL LEARNING ON HOW TO SET IT UP TO FOLLOW THE SKY OBJECTS AT NIGHT AS WELL AS THE DAY TIME. I'M WORKING TO INCREASE THE DISTANCE THAT IS IN THE VIEWING RANGE WITH A GOOD PICTURE AS I'M ALSO THYING TO SET UP A 10 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA TO RECORD THE VIEWING SCREEN. ALL IN GOOD TIME. PEH

Overall, the Celestron AstroMaster for me, is a "just an ok" telescope. The supplied lens's could have been of better quality. The tube mounting straps doesn't fit very well around the scope tube. The finder scope is a nothing more than a joke because the adjusting control function on the finder scope doesn't work at all. If I had known more about telescopes, I would have gone with another brand.

First of all I only had this telescope about a week and it already started falling apart it won't stay where I point it at it just falls straight down... Second the lenses are OK for looking up at the moon but everything else is just another's star.. Especially planets their just stars you really can't see them like they made it out to look trust me not worth it.. Unless you just want to look at the moon that's pretty much the only thing you can look at with good quality... But for everything else that they made it out to be is not... But hey don't take my word on it try you're self and see what I mean..

This seems like a beautiful piece of equipment, but if you are not familiar with astronomical terms, it can be a little confusing. Once we get used to what is what, I am sure it will be exciting to use. Everything is made well, parts are not all plastic and should last a lifetime. We look forward to seeing what's "out there". Would definitely recommend, but again, is just a tad confusing at first. Glad it was my choice . . .

I have only used it to view the moon so far. I have never had a telescope before. So the question "Is it easy to use" is "No". But its not meant to be easy. I have to invest time and learn which is part of the fun. I think this is a great scope for me and am looking forward to more viewing.

Great bang-for-the-buck value! Its a lot more stable if you set the stand as short as it will go, which keeps the image from bouncing all around. That and throw a small sand bag on the tray to help stabilize the image. You can also get a lot more performance out of it by upgrading to a high quality variable zoom eyepiece. This telescope offers amazing performance at this price range. Highly recommended.

This telescope is great for beginners and intermediate users. I’m still learning it but have gotten some great views of some star clusters and the moon. Can’t wait to order some stronger lenses and get a glimpse of mars!

Great shipping, packaging, and quick delivery. Easy to use, stands stable, great moon, sun, and large planet detail, very enjoyable! There is only one concern being the finder scope is difficult to use. In all it is well worth the money!

My daughter is big time into astronomy, and astrophysics. She thinks she's going to walk on Mars and have "Happy Hour" there one day. This was highly rated as the 2016 Telescope of the year. I debated between this one and a fully automatic one, 3x the price that you punch the coordinates into. While this one's manual, it has radians measurement and you can get the rest of the telemetry from a good smartphone these days. The fine tuning is superior to the computerized ones, is what I was told. The quality and resolution are impeccable. An outstanding value. Hey, it's 5:00 Somewhere in the galaxy ... gotta go.

Nicely made, I feel like I need to grow into it. The equatorial mount takes a little getting used to but it's the way big ones are set up. It's not a toy, it's a good beginner's scope to learn principles on. Picture of a windmill 2 miles away taken through it.
