Great HDD at a great price
It is formatted NTFS, which is great because Windows as well as Mac is able to read it. I am currently running Yosemite on a 2015 Macbook pro. I was a little worried prior to ordering it that I might have to purchase additional software in order to read/write to this external hdd, but that is not the case. It works flawlessly with yosemite. It could not be easier to setup and use. You literally take it out of the box, connect the supplied cable between it and your computer, let the driver install (which is automatic) and it is ready to go. There is no other software to load and no annoying messages popping up on the screen. The unit is small, thin and easy to accommodate. My only recommended improvement would be a slightly longer cable to allow the unit to be placed near the edge of the desk where it would be more out of the way.
