Great portable spreader! Highly recommended!
I love this portable spreader. It is easy to use. You do have to calibrate it for all of your various granular products. I hope it last for years to come. I use it for granular herbicides, fertilizers, and pelletized lime for our lawn.

Not for large food plots.
The reason for 3 stars is two-fold. First, the harness could be revised to be more comfortable. With 20-30 pounds of material in it and one strap, it’s very uncomfortable. Second, to get any kind of range with your seed, you would have to spin it extremely fast. I bought this for larger food plots for hunting season. It would be ideal for a large yard. The product itself seems to be well made.

First Experience with the Solo Chest Mounted Spreader
The Solo Spreader is easy to use. The crank handle works smoothly. The unit seems to be well built, so that it should last for many years. In regard to spreading multiple seed sizes, it would be nice to include approximate "red lever" opening settings to give the new user a starting point for spreading various seed types.

Can't Beat It
Spins perfectly smoothly with no gear grinding sound or feel. The lid keeps the powdery stuff out of your fact while you are spreading. The very best of all is that you don't dump seed all over the ground trying to fill it. 1000x better than a bag spreader. This is my second one of these. My other lasted 8-10 years before I accidentally crushed it in the back of my truck.

A well-made and well-engineered spreader. One small gripe: hard to set the spread rate accurately. Pretty much need to eyeball it and adjust by feel to get it right. Overall though...really works well.

Buy The Best You Can Afford, It'll save you money in The Long Run!
I've purchased several different Broudcast spreaders. I always spend a little more on each one. I do deer food plots, so I spread pelletized lime, seed and fertilizer. Well the lime and fertilizer are like spreading gravel...Wares out a poor quality spreader quickly. My New SOLO Spreader is the best I could find and it's holding up very well.. Red Wautoma, WI.

works ok BUT the handle hits my hip while im cranking and walking at the same time, it throws more seed to the left when in the center position and more to the right when one position to the right, seed gets caught between the hopper and the bottom BUT it sure is nice to have a large hopper so you dont have to refill all the time
