This Hoover UH30600 WindTunnel MAX Bagged Upright Vacuum has a very powerful suction and can very easily clean a thick pile carpet as well as a bare wood or vinyl floor. Cons – it is heavy to maneuver (weighs 18 lbs.), the motor is quite loud, not easy to slide far enough under bed or furniture, backside attachments for accessory vacuuming tools can get easily dislodged. Our prior Hoover model U4258-930 Runabout Upright Vacuum Cleaner lasted for almost 18 years when its motor died. A product from a reliable manufacturer and for the price ~ $100 a very good value.

I have owned Hoover WindTunnels in the past and have been extremely pleased. This particular model for me had quite the learning curve in figuring out what carpet height adjustment to use. I am also not able to vacuum small area rugs as I have in the past as the suction is so strong it eats up the carpet even with the brush roller inactivated. It is cumbersome to move even with the self propelled mode so not recommended for someone with a bad back. The suction is great and the long cord is a plus.

This is a great vacuum cleaner! I'm so happy to have one with a bag to eliminate all that nasty dust from the bagless type. It's easy to handle, maneuvers well, and love the adjustment heights. It is on the loud side, so I actually wear earplugs while I vacuum!

We bought this vacuum as a replacement for a Eureka we had that was a few years old. MAN am I happy we did!! This cleans SO much better! Our old vacuum would 'pick up' the carpets and they would look decent for a short while, but this Hoover cleans really deep, really thorough, and the carpets look great now! I really love the long extendable hose on this unit, too. It's very convenient and easy to use. It even locks in place when you're done with it, instead of just jamming it into a slot. It comes with excellent HEPA certified bags, and replacements are reasonably priced. The only thing I don't love about this vacuum is the weight. However, it's easy to handle, and it cleans so well, that I gladly accept the extra ounces in exchange. Overall, you really can't lose with this vacuum. It's a top-rated Consumer Reports model, too! Pros: it performs well, cleans a wide area in one swipe, and has a long cord and long hose Cons: it's fairly heavy if you have to carry it up or down stairs, it has a very high-pitched whistle while running (I wear ear plugs), and the wheels squeak while moving it. It also has a loud squeak when turning it off - maybe the belt? The price was very good, so it isn't worth the postage to return it. I'll keep using it until it stops working, then will get something else.
