VC Defiant
This is a nice quality piece. It's a refractory, so it does have small imperfections, none of which hampers functionality. My old one was busted into pieces when I bought my used VC stove. Removal and install was fairly simple. To do it "correctly " you should probably remove the large cast iron piece this mounts behind and into. I saw a review where one person cut their brand new refractory in half to install it. That's not necessary. If you insert the top first with the bottom pulled out towards you and "wiggle" it slowly and easily it will go in in one piece. You're gonna distort a couple corners a little bit nothing that'll hurt it. I am now going to have to replace my combuster also now that the refractory is channeling the smoke the way it's supposed to, but this piece is a perfect replacement for the original.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
