SynopsisImagine a young boy who has never had a loving home. His only possesions are the old, torn clothes he carries in a paper bag. The only world he knows is one of isolation and fear. Although others had rescued this boy from his abusive alcoholic mother, his real hurt is just begining -- he has no place to call home. This is Dave Pelzer's long-awaited sequel to A Child Called "It". In The Lost Boy, he answers questions and reveals new adventures through the compelling story of his life as an adolescent. Now considered an F-Child (Foster Child), Dave is moved in and out of five different homes. He suffers shame and experiences resentment from those who feel that all foster kids are trouble and unworthy of being loved just because they are not part of a "real" family. Tears, laughter, devastation and hope create the journey of this little lost boy who searches desperately for just one thing -- the love of a family., Imagine a young boy who has never had a loving home. Excellent condition, excellent read

Very happy with this product! Read it in 2 days! I just couldn't put it down! I read A Child Called It twice years ago and only recently learned that it was the first book of a series! I couldn't wait to get the rest!

  • Top critical review

Book is not in great condition.

Book came with a bar code sticker across it, high lighting was in it and writing inside. I understand the book is used but this is horrible condition. Also stickers on the back of book too. I only gave it 3 stars because I will still read it. But I won't keep the book after that because the condition is horrible for my collection of books.

  • Good Author....worth the read

I gave this book to my 14 year old granddaughter for her birthday, she had read the 1st book by this author at school. She was very happy to get her own copy!

  • Can't wait to get the next sequel

I can't put the book down! Love the author, who is extremely talented and extraordinarily courageous

  • Compeling true story!

This book, part two of three others, is one of the best books about child abuse, neglect, and the foster care system that I have ever read. It is a book that cannot be put down from beginning to end. It is a true tale of survival not victimization. I recommend these books highly. The first book is A Child Called It, the second is The Lost Boy, and the third is A Man Named Dave. I suggest reading them in order.

  • I love it!

Great quality book. No ripped or torn pages, markings, or spills. It came within about a week or so. I read the 1st part of the trilogy and it was, to say the least, intriguing and a page-turner. I couldn't put this one down and am about to start the last part. Thanx

  • Inspirational.

I have read the whole series and that young man went on to make something good of himself in spite of his parents and the deplorable conditions in which they gave him to grow up in. It is truly an inspiration for young people to read.

  • Difficult Read

The book is a true account of one of the worst chold abuse cases in California's history. I use it as a therapeutic tool with clients who have a history of trauma.
