(last paragraph excerpt from back cover ) L. Fletcher Prouty is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Air Force. Originally a pilot in World War II, he spent his last nine years of service in the Pentagon as the official Focal Point Officer- first for the Air Force, and then for the entire Department of Defense with the CIA. All CIA military activities were thus channeled through him. Not being a CIA man, he was exempt from taking the oath of secrecy. Being the Focal Point Officer put him in a very privileged position: in effect, Prouty has far more knowledge of CIA activities than almost all members of that organization. My comment, Prouty lends first-person insight into the CIA. The Mystery Man, "X": Oliver Stone's JFK (I haven't seen yet) was the character based upon L. Fletcher Prouty speaking to Jim Garrison in the film. The real world is often stranger than fiction. Grab hold of history before it is rewritten to suit the greatest offenders.

  • A good find

It’s not cheap, but I consider it a rare book . It’s like new inside , just the faintest discolor due to age on the spine hardly worth mentioning really . Well packaged. Very happy with it.
