AMD makes the CN-0YP9NP laptop motherboard for the Dell Inspiron M5010 and other Dell Inspiron laptops. Dell makes this laptop motherboard available as an original OEM part. Professionals and enthusiasts can use it to upgrade and repair their computers. It can also be available as a system pull. This board is commonly used as a replacement. However, it can also be used to repair, upgrade, and build a wide range of non-Dell and custom laptop computers.This Dell laptop motherboard is based on the AMD RS880M and SB820M chipsets. It uses the Socket S1G4 as is designed specifically for the Phenom II Triple-Core Mobile N830 2.1 GHz CPU. Triple-Core is like having a computer with three processors rather than one. It ups the processing speed and the amount the computer can handle. This setup is designed for 64-bit environments but supports 32-bit as well. The front side bus on this Dell Inspiron M5010 operates at 3.6 GHz. A 1MB L2 cache helps the motherboard swap data between cores quickly in order to avoid bottlenecking. The form factor is proprietary, and the board measures 12 inches by 10 inches by 2 inches.Although the Dell Inspiron M5010 laptop is usually shipped with 2 x 2GB or 4GB total, you can opt for more or less. Your system can have as little as 1GB of system RAM or as much as 8GB. This motherboard supports memory type SO-DIMM. The RAM should be 204-pin modules that are unbuffered and non-ECC. You can mix sizes, such as 1GB and 4GB. Also, note that while the default Inspiron M5010 ran at 1333 MHz, you can customize this specification. You can choose 1600 MHz, 1866 MHz, or as high as the processor and chipset specifications allow.Two SATA II connections are provided to connect internal storage devices. 320GB of SATA memory is provided. The Dell Inspiron M5010 laptop often shipped with a 2.5-inch hard drive and an optical drive. However, the motherboard can be paired with many other options, such as solid state drives. The theoretical throughput on these connections is 3 Gb/s. This laptop board features a card reader that can read from and write to SD, MMC, MS, and MS Pro.Display rendering is performed ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650. This Radeon is an integrated graphics card that features 1GB of GDDR3 VRAM. Note that the integrated graphics solution is on the notebook motherboard rather than being integrated into the CPU. An onboard VGA port lets you output video to another screen. You can also use an adapter, such as a VGA-to-HDMI connection. The HD 4650 also features onboard sound, and it can deliver high-definition, 2-channel audio.The Dell Inspiron M5010 laptop motherboard gives you a number of networking options as well. An integrated LAN controller lets you connect via RJ45 for 10/100/1000 Ethernet access. A built-in wireless adapter gives you 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi for Internet connectivity wherever you are. I purchased this to replace a failed motherboard. These and several other motherboards seem to have a history of failing. I recommend you reflow the motherboard before installing. Dell M5010 are trash
These have a well know cold solder issue. Dell refuses to admit this, but it's true. When new they work well enough, but as soon as solder to GPU chip gets heated, it softens due too too low temp melt solder being used by factory & looses contact w/ MOBO. Results in black screen & no boot. Buying a used MOBO is a waste of time & I even question the refurbs. IMHO if your Dell M5010 black screens, pull the hard drive & toss it out.
