Affordable and Perfect 1.62" Drop with a Wide bowl to fit large rectangular carburetors!
Great drop-base at a very reasonable price. I have hood clearance issues over my carburetor and was looking for ways to drop it so the top of my 3" air cleaner was not making contact with the hood. I have a high-performance Buick 455 packed neatly into the engine bay of a 1984 Buick Regal (G-Body). However, I was also limited on drop depth due to a cruise control bracket near my carb linkage. This 1.62" drop did the job perfectly! Better yet is the "deep bowl" feature on this base. Many bases have a narrow bowl, while some have rectangular indents on either side to accommodate larger, aftermarket performance double-inlet carburetors. Many other bases have slanted bowl going from the neck to the base. Not this little beauty, it has deep bowl walls that curve up toward the top and do not slant in. Therefore, it WILL fit the large, rectangular shape double-inlet carbs! Bowl shape is great and finding the perfect drop (for me, more than 1.25" but less than 1.75") was a challenge.
