Magical and Mythical, Monstrous and Most Satisfying they are indeed. The Keeley Oxblood Overdrive was designed by Robert Keeley and Craighton Hale with a lot of help and insight from Jack Orman. Jack Orman has been a pioneer in the modern world of effects for 20 years.
Good tone. Ranges from warm mild breakup to distortion to almost fuzz like qualities at certain settings. I would definitely recommend it to someone who has room for more than 1 drive pedal as it excels before a slightly dirty tone. I’m pairing mine with the Keeley Super Phat Mod Germanium with good success.
Don't expect a Klon clone. The Oxblood is more than that.
The Keeley Oxblood pedal has the sound based on the Klon. It may even have that DNA, subtle, but much more versatile. It's easy to use and paired really well with my Fender strat and amp. I really enjoyed the purchase.
Just as with the other Keeley pedals I own, this pedal is a superior piece of work. The tone is really great, as is the construction. It's able to vary the tone structure pretty substantially with the flip of some switches and adjusting the various knobs. Being the owner of 4 Keeley pedals now, it's my conclusion that this company does not make a single bad product!
