These are simply the best combs ever for vintage (and all other) hair styles. They are extremely durable and they hold the hair much better than the ones you find at the store. They do everything the claim and more. They are great for thick hair, thin hair, pretty much any type of hair. Prior to discovering them I used the Scunci brand combs. I swear the teeth would break by just looking at them. They would slide out of my hair within minutes. They were just terrible. The Grip-Tuth combs have been around for ages because they are the best out there. Four combs for under $10 is a steal as they will last you forever if you take good care of them. I use the Grip-Tuth combs 4-5 times a week. A 4 pack of these lasts me around 5x + as long as the Scunci ones, saving me a ton of money. That being said, they are not completely indestructible. I have managed to break a couple teeth (tip: pack them carefully in your checked luggage when traveling, don't accidentally place a heavy object on top of them, don't step or sit on them, etc..) on occasion but unlike Scunci combs as long as you have most of the teeth they will still work. They are incredibly durable for what they are. I have already converted several friends into Grip-Tuth junkies. Like me they no longer even consider using a cheaper comb. They are worth every penny!Read full review

Love these combs, I’ve always loved side combs. I was born in he early 50’s and many women still wore them then. I was thrilled when the resurfaced in the late 70’s and 80s. I still wear them and get compliments every time i do, hairstyles really don’t improve with time some retro styles are still flattering

I bought these combs and they work really well. They hold my hair firmly.

I was skeptical that these side combs would be any different than the name-brand ones I bought at a drug store, but they are. The thickness of the plastic is about the same as the ones I already own, but the teeth are slightly closer together. I use a comb on the back of my head to catch shorter hair that falls out underneath when I do a messy bun. My 'old" combs would eventually work their way out, but so far, the Grip-Tuth combs have stayed in place. Very satisfied!

The Grip-Tuth side combs offer the best reliable hold for my fine hair. I have tried them all, and I am now loyal to this brand.
