Very Simple Install, and Great Product
The fact that these were installed with such ease was only magnified by the fact that they worked perfectly. My wife and kids can now raise and lower the ramp SAFELY without me standing by to catch it if it gets away from them. I actually had to read the details of these several times to be sure that I was getting TWO of them for the price because I thought the listing price was a little low for a pair of them. Overall a great value for a very good product. These are well worth the money, and small effort to install. Very Difficult Install/Mediocre Results
I was very disappointed with this $150 item. It was extremely difficult to install and adjust, despite following the instructions exactly. You may want to read other reviews about the difficulty with installation and adjustment. While adjusting the springs, both of the small springs became intertwined under pressure with the large brings and could only be separated with the use of a pair of very large bolt cutters, which I happen to own. Each time you need to try a different combination of of springs, you must disassemble the end of the product you have already installed. This is very tedious. And, for my trailer, which is a very common brand and style, the large springs are too powerful and the small springs are too week. After installation and adjustment, the product does help lift the trailer gate, but not as much as advertised. If I knew installation and adjustment would take so many hours and yeild such mediocre results, I would not have bought the Gorilla Lift. I note that I am quite mechanical and have alot of tools to do the job. Once installation was completed, I removed the prominent Gorilla Lift stickers and spray painted the glaring yellow metal a gloss black to match the rest of my trailer. The lifts now blend in perfectly and do not advertise a product that I cannot recommend, especially at its current price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is the second gorilla lift assist kit that I've bought over the past couple of years and I'm telling you it is awesome. easy to install and once installed, you have the option to use the lift support springs several different ways so that you can get the tail gate up by just using one finger. I highly recommend this gorilla lift assist lift kit to anyone with a utility trailer and especially if you don't like heavy lifting or can't do any heavy lifting because of back problems etc. You can't go wrong and the price is very affordable.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Early Assessment
The product has well made hardware but not sure if it is rust resistant. The assembly and installation instructions are clear and concise, especially if you understand how the lift works. The lift works well and does the job. Note: You may have to make some welding adjustments to the gate pin holders on your particular trailer to avoid cable conflicts or abrasion. I was able to move the lift rails over enough on my angle iron to avoid this. It would be helpful to checkout some videos on YouTube before purchasing or installing. FYI - There are actually dual springs in each side of lift, one of which you are instructed to remove if the lift is too strong. I also ordered square plastic end caps from another online source that fit perfectly in the rear ends of the front rails to help keep moisture, dirt and other contaminants out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

No More Bending Down
That's right! Once you figure out what springs you need to use and get it adjusted correctly, you can lift your tailgate from the ground with one foot and catch it as it gets to the top. I didn't want to drill a 1/2 inch hole in my tailgate so I made these brackets and welded them on. Five stars if they had a different way to attach the cables. Fairly easy to mount and set up for the DIY people.

Best thing I did for my trailer referb project makes it so easy to let the gate up and down save your back for sure.
