  • Strong Performance increase on the Kawasaki Concours 14

01/27/2019 Pros - 2008 Concours 14 easy installation of a single Delkevic 9", looks like any of the other $900 pipes once installed, but the cost was only $235. I removed the baffle before the install, the bike sounds throaty slightly deeper with a mild growl. As far as describing loudness, I would say it's a considerable increase over the OEM. To be safe, your still a long ways from the loudness of a Harley Davidson. The bike has a bit more snap, it will pull the front wheel up moving from 1st to 2nd. It wouldn't do that with the OEM Muffle. It's worth the money if you're looking for feedback to your ears as to where the engine is reeving or lugging. The OEM system had zero feedback, you just couldn't hear the motor at all, it was terrible. Delkevic gives it a growl and provides some feedback to your ears. Totally recommend the Pipe for the Concours. I also have a 2003 FJR and I put the two Delkevic 9" pipes with the baffle on that bike and it made a little bit of a difference in performance over the OEM of the FJR. Incidentally, the attachment pipe(s) to the muffle for both the different bikes was the only different between the kits for FJR & the Concours 14, in other words the muffle is identical for both, except the FJR requires two mufflers and the Concours 14 used only one. The way DelKevic describes the pipe is the shorter the pipe the louder the pipe. My goal was to get the air from the air filter using a K&N KA-1406 back to the exhaust pipe with less restriction over OEM, this was a success and I'm sure I'll see improvement in mpg. These 9" pipes are just right you can still start your bike and the neighbor may hear the bike, but it's not hardly going to upset the neighbors. Just don't sit around reeving the motor. I'm attaching 2 pic of the install

  • Overall great sound finish, and performance

Had to build a little bracket to get the muffler to fit under the side luggage case properly for enough clearance.
