King of Nutcrackers!
Pros: Adjustable to different types of nuts and sizes. Heavy duty for harder nuts like walnuts. Also does the less hard nuts without destroying them. Does not take a lot of strength, it does the work for you. Cons: Needs to have some type of information with it; Use, cleaning, maintenance info, and warning about shell fragments being shot away from it at great force (Use of eye protection recommended). Good Walnut cracker after minor improvements
The product generally works very well after I replaced one of the bolts that bent almost immediately. Some of the parts are very low Quality Steel in need to be upgraded to high strength material to receive a better rating. Perfect solution for cracking black walnuts
The nutcracker arrived quickly. Works like a charm. I’ve already ruined a vice by using it to crack walnuts. This nutcracker the job easier and faster than ruining another vice! Some observations: 1) not important to me, but some folks ask, it’s made in China. 2) it’s made of very heavy cast aluminum. But I don’t see any wear and tear yet. 3) No instructions included. But it’s easy to figure out. 4) a slip of paper says to keep it lubricated. But lube what and where? I spread heavy gear grease across the top gear teeth. I also disassembled the 3 bolts holding it together and coated them with gear grease. 5) the nuts are cracked between two bolts with indentations to hold the nuts. Works really well!
The nut cracker works really well on black walnuts after you get the hang of it. I've used it about a week and have already broke one bolt so I got some heavier ones for replacements.
