I keep these on my bike for emergencies
When we were kids, we used to ride our 26' bikes everywhere never worrying much about flats, or air pressure. Something happened. Now, it seems we have to check the air pressure just about daily, and flats could happen at any time. I recommend the purchase of self-sealing tubes to help reduce the chances of being stranded, but, even those fail. The low price of these tubes allows you to keep one on your bike just in case your expensive tubes fail. Patch kits don't really work that well, needing more time and effort to produce a solution.
