I had an old Sunbeam Mixmaster, 1960s yellow, and thought when we moved I should upgrade to pretty, popular white KitchenAid. Biggest mistake ever. I struggled making my best cake recipe for two years, cursing every time I had to beat the egg whites and they clumped or had unwhipped whites in the bottom and adding ingredients to the mixer required stopping it. Finally checked ebay and found a replacement Mixmaster. Problems solved. My “new one” has a plastic base instead of the original metal, but I don’t care because the two-beater design and the small and large glass bowls are SO much better for cakes. Cookies are probably easier on the Kitchen Aid, but for multi-stage cakes the Mixmaster rocks.

This older model Sunbeam Mixer replaces one I had had for years. I hope this one lasts as long as the last one did. It's easy to use compared to some of the newer models and does what I need it to do. I particularly like that I can scrape down the sides of the bowls while the mixer is running which isn't the case with a lot of the newer ones. I bought a new one that should have replaced the old one - the same model - but the silly mixers didn't reach the bottom of the bowl. There was no way to cream eggs and sugar. Ridiculous!
