Good upgrade for the P22
I've used Volquartsen products on other projects before and they are all well made and durable. The part is made of high quality material and is machined to exact tolerances, making it a good upgrade for the Walther P22. The larger contact surface of the extractor aids in expelling the casings reliably, reducing the risk of jamming. I would recommend having an experienced gunsmith install this part if you are unfamiliar with that type of work. I had to do some minor filing on my slide and polishing on the extractor to get the proper fit but once installed it works perfectly. Great upgrade for the price!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Reconsider the issue
When I replaced the extractor with this the casings wouldn't get extracted at all. I used the spring and original extractor and my problem was fixed. Well made but try a beefier spring first.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

P22 replacement extractor, not perfect....
Hoped this would be an easy drop-in fix for the poor factory extractor, but it needed fitting, some filing made it work 100%, and the stronger spring makes about 50% of the difference. Still have original, in case gun needs factory repair.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works better than the original part
I was a little worried after reading reviews of people saying they had to machine the extractor down to make it work or fit in their P22. I'm no gunsmith but this was a simple install. Good improvement over stock
Could be slightly tighter tolerances on the face, but as-is it's much better than the stock piece. Make sure to take it out if you're going to send your gun in to Walther. They'll claim it needs to be replaced and charge you for the privilege. It greatly improved the direction the shells take when being ejected.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Upgraded extractor

Volquartsen edge extractor
My p22 was malfunctioning every round. Would not eject a round and they would get stuck in the barrel. Put in the Volquartsen and ran 150 rounds of various ammo with only 3 malfunctions of which one was my fault. I consider that a big success. Upgrade
The first time I took my Walter P22 to the range it was ejecting brass in to particular pattern. Sometimes it would go to the side, hit me in the top of my head, or try to find it's way down my shirt. After watching a few youtube videos I knew this was the upgrade for me. I validated this yesterday at the range. Every round ejected in the same pattern to the side as expected.
