Rock On LZ !!!
First of all, there are at least 2 versions of this box set. There is this 4 disc set, released in 1990, with the 'crop circle' cover, and a 2 disc set with the same cover. The one major difference between the 2 covers is the 2 disc set has the word, 'Remastered' printed on the bottom of the cover, so be careful when ordering. The booklet and poster are excellent. It features the 'Led Zep' story and a few articles about the band and their music. The most interesting parts are the bands meeting with Elvis and the ups and downs of the band members. Robert Plant has especially gone through alot. Now on to the music. There is much music to listen to in this set. The hits are all here, from 'Whole Lotta Love' to 'Stairway'. Having never purchased Presence or Coda, those tracks from those albums are new to me. There are a few unreleased songs and rarities in the mix, too. I notice when a Led Zep package is created, they always seem to end with 'All My Love". I wish there were more Zeppelin songs in their catalog, in this vain. Everyone knows LZ can rock, but I wish they recorded more of their softer side, too. They can do both very well. I would also like to see guest musicians credited on the notes as well. This a a highly recommended box set.
