The one we just purchased on eBay works fine so far. The one that we bought previously from cricket wireless lasted around a year and then sometimes wouldn't charge correctly, would just drop the connection when using it, then would not charge at all. We went to a cricket wireless store who said they no longer carry it and that the battery was dead. Well there's dead and there's dead. After the fact I don't think it was the battery. I think it was the unit. We took the SIM card from the old one and put it in the new one so we would not have to get a new account with cricket and so far it's working fine. So we got no satisfaction about the old one that costs around $70 from cricket.

This product is super simple to use. Add a compatible SIM, mine is from Cricket, and it works the first time. Amazing! The instructions are clear. It takes a time or two to understand how to access the website to do advanced configuration of the unit. The password is the last six or so characters of the serial number available under the battery. The advanced configuration options are excellent, at least for me. I'm going to use the unit when I visit ships and talk to the sailors. I'll be able to provide them some Internet access via the HotSpot that they don't have to pay through the nose to get. I will use the advanced configuration to put some restrictions on what can be accessed. Up to 15 users at a time can connect. What's not to like? I'm looking for the best deal on a data-only compatible SIM card. This product is a winner!Read full review
