Great SSD option
I bought this drive to replace the Hard Drive in a laptop that had really slowed down over the years. I chose the 870 EVO after reading reviews stating that it was the best consumer SATA 2.5 SSD on the market. I could not be more happy with the purchase. The laptop I installed the drive into is over 4 years old and is now running at like new speeds again. The Samsung Data Migration software made the transfer of data a seamless and very easy process. Works like a charm ! Downloaded the Samsung migration data tool. Swaped the drives out in about an hour. I have a Dell Inspiron 9010. At least 3 times faster. Web pages load super fast. I have a T9900 CPU on the way and upgrading from 4 mb ram to 8 mb. For approximately $250 I have upgraded an old laptop to a great machine! Absolutely pleased with this product! I breathed some new life into my sister's 10 year old 64-bit Toshiba laptop (L745-S4210) with this SSD installed with Windows 10. The laptop has been a lot more responsive and was able to boot up windows 10 much faster than I could blink an eye. At that time the laptop originally with a 580 GB HDD ended up slowing down to a point where it would no longer able to handle the tasks on windows 10. Now because of the Samsung 870 EVO SSD, I no longer have to see 100% usage on the task manager all the time like I did with the old HDD.
