Don't let this Postcard size book fool you! A lightweight (220+ pgs) but still comprehensive book, beautifully illustrated throughout, with solid educational material on popular as well as obscure equine breeds. Published 2006.
Upside: concise, to-the-point breed info perfect for the Model Horse Community needing a good source of breed documentation at Liveshows. Longears (donkeys, mules, hinnies) are covered.
Downside: Exotics (zebra, zorse, zedonk, wild ass, tarpan, przewalski, and riwoche) are NOT covered here.
Bottom line: Get your hands on a copy of this book for your Equine Library! You won't be sorry you did, I promise!
Very nice. Got the rabbit one a while back and it is extremely helpful for identifying potential breeding rabbits and their uses.
Horse one is the same with great pictures and breed summaries.
