Works well on well water
We have smelly well water and these filters remove the smell and most of the off-taste that comes with iron and sulfur elements in the water. They are also supposed to move other contaminants, biological and otherwise. As for some of the questions - Is it compact, Is it easy to operate, Is it easy to clean, well I can say this. The filters are about 10" long and 2" in diameter. I guess the description "compact" is subjective. They really don't "operate". They are dropped into receptacles that are connected to the cold water supply under the sink. The receptacles must be unscrewed from their mounting fixtures and the filters are dropped in, then the receptacles are screwed back onto the mounting fixtures. The filters are not cleaned. They are replaced and discarded when they no longer can remove the smell and contaminants.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
