Great stock OEM water pump for an easy fix to your car
Genuine Ford part that fits like it should. I installed this in a 2012 Ford Focus and it is an easy job. The trick is to remove the engine mount near the water pump and jack the engine up as high as it will go to allow the removal of the old pump from the block. Otherwise the car frame just an inch from the pump pully will not allow you to withdraw the old pump from the block or insert the new one back into the block.. I attached a few photos of the removal of the old pump up to the point of installing the new pump. The new pump comes with the O-ring seal so just lube it up with some light grease and wiggle it into the block, fits like a champ! Install all the stuff you took off and don't forget to refill the coolant!
Needed to change the water pump on my Focus after I stalled a good quality after market one and it failed not long after the install. The after market started leaking at the O-ring and I need to add coolant once every couple of weeks. I decided to forgo the warranty route and just get one that was meant to be in the Focus and purchased a OEM water pump something I should have done right from the get go. Installed the OEM went in with no trouble and guess what? No leaks. Shop around find the best price that you can and by OEM.
