Tested the diamond tester on small diamonds and it worked well, it also detected large high quality CZ's as diamonds one out of 2 or 50% of the time, the loop or magnifier is good for the price and inclusion of the tool, if you want an inexpensive tool that will work for at least 50% of the time it is worth the money. Handy and quick to use, portable diamond tester & loupe.
This tester is light weight, handy and works exactly as instructions say. It lets you know when you are touching metal by beeping quickly and if you have a diamond it beeps slowly as well as lights up. If it's not a diamond, no lights or beeps. The illuminated loupe is also handy. I've used it to identify fake pearls and real. I intend to use it more as time goes on to view inclusions in diamonds and other gems. Descent price needs extra care.
This was an (OK) tester for the price but needs extra attention like a flower about to wilt, lol burns through cheap batteries within hours and havent even tried expensive batteries of fear of losing money. ......But overall it does what it says and is worth the money if its all you can get and it does actually work so im not complaining. Really like the loupe
I've been able to discern jewelry marks which were very light due to wear...i.e. 14k, 10k and 925 or nothing but scratches. I use the 60x loupe a good deal of the time. As far as the diamond tester, most of the stones I've tested have turned out to be CZ's.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
