Although I don't regret purchasing my Brim 8 Cup Automatic Pour-Over, it isn't all that I expected as far as flavor and fragrance is concerned. I was getting equally fine results with my automatic drip Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal System (this is my 3rd Mr. C OBTS over the last 15 years). I have always ground fresh whole beans right before brewing. I weigh and use the 18:1 ratio. The appearance of the shower pattern on the bed after the bloom is almost the same. Although the Brim offers more variable control and is more "manual", I can't tell much of a difference in the end result. They both make equally rich and flavorful coffee and produce that aroma we all enjoy while the maker is brewing. Yes, you can watch the hot water bubble up the clear tube through the clear tank and then down from the showerhead to the coffee bed and see the bloom as the coffee expands on the Brim; whereas all that takes place inside the cabinet on the Mr. C OBTS. So, after spending more than double on my new coffee maker and doing a reasonable amount of online research and review reading, I'm disappointed.Read full review

Better than a regular coffee maker because it takes longer to brew and is intermittent. The negative is that it spits water droplets surrounding the brewer.

It does everything I hoped it would. And the coffee really IS good!

The craft is very thin and easy to break, replacements are not available. I would run from buying this coffee maker
