    The4 DOS/XE manual is the bible for the XF-551 disk drive, period end of story.

    Atari Owner's if you need an manual for what ever reason, don't hesitate to buy one. The purpose of any good manual is to guide you through the steps required to accomplish the mission of that program. The Manual for the XF-551 disk drive is special above many other Dos manuals. If you are using a XF-551 disk drive I would highly recommend that you get the proper manual such as the DOS XE. DOS is the proper term for Disk-Operating-System.

    Keeping it original

    The retro DOS manual and DOS XE for the Atari XF551 drive is a must have for those who like to have everything as original as possible. I've rebuilt a number of the XF551 drives to give to friends who started out with Atari 8-bit computers. I still dabble in programming the old Atari computers and like to share my work and ideas with my friends. I insure that we are all on the same page with hardware and software. It's a great journey into the land of nostalgia.

    Bought my XF551 used and didn't get a manual or DOS XE with it, now I have the manual and DOS XE.
