It Works
Mostly what you're paying for is the mic adapter for the GoPro. The mic itself does work well (as long as) it's pointed directly at the point of sound. I'm no expert or pro at this, but I use this for a YouTube channel that I cover install and reviews for Jeep parts. It's either mounted on a stationary tripod or a handheld with the camera. I have found that while aiming the camera and mic at a part while narrating, the peripheral audio is not great. Will probably end up with a lapel type mic. Biggest issue was waiting over 50 days for delivery. If your target audio will be stationary, this mic will suffice.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ridiculously Large Dongle
GoPro with all its advancements and innovations continues to miss the mark with this product. Forcing GoPro camera owners to use this ridiculously large "dongle" that's half the size of a GoPro camera and wayyy overpriced, just to hook up an external mic is equally ridiculous.
