The Peavey Bandit is a phenomenal amplifier representing years of research on vacuum tube emulation, resulting in a totally new Bandit. The preamp has been redesigned, using patent-applied for technology that redefines tubelike distortion and harmonic generation in solid-state amps. The new TTM Dynamics circuitry, also awaiting several patents, creates the long sought for tube power compression phenomenon. This, in combination with resonance and presence circuitry, yields the closest tube amp simulation to date. This compression effect is increased by turning the T. Dynamics control down, which lowers the power level the amp puts out.

While I prefer a real tube amp, these are not far behind offering excellent sound and reliability. They really offer the feel of a real tube amp due to the transformer design and the way the transformer interacts with the speaker. I sometimes prefer transtube over a real tube amp because you can switch it on and play immediately without any need to warm up the tubes and you know the tone is t going to change when the tubes wear out.
