Zizzle Zoundz came and went very quickly a little over a decade ago. And that's a shame, because it never really found its market. With a limited number of musical pieces programmed in, kids put it to one side pretty quickly. The Sharper Image crowd played with it a little in the store, and maybe sprung for it to have as a office fidget, but soon it would sit forlorn on some forgotten shelf. Which is a real shame, because it has serious potential. One Zoundz has a limited capacity, but multiple Zoundz can turn you into a desktop Tangerine Dream. The built music takes on real depth with several of the played at the same time. Adding external devices through them simultaneously really opens up a lot of sound space, with the Zoundz creating a chorus on top of them. There are a couple of drawbacks, though. Over time the playing devices can lose connectivity, but they are easy enough to work on. There are sites that can show you how to fix them with a minimum of fuss. Also, they only play through a built in speaker. But they can be modified to have an "Out" jack. And if you get serious about them, this is recommended. Personally, even one Zoundz is a lot of fun, and I can spend hours playing it without getting bored. If you can find one that is not abused or too expensive, GRAB IT.Read full review

Creighton's review best explains them, don't listen to negative reviews on this item. There will never be anything like them. A unique musical gift. We had one of these sets when my kids were younger, and it was VERY entertaining for kids and adults, too. The individual pieces each have their own unique sound and light pattern. You can use a couple, or a bunch of them to make a little electronic symphony. Can also record what you created, in addition to other less useful features, though the alarm clock was kinda cool, too. Beautifully futuristic looking the icing. I still have never seen anything like them. Wish they weren't so dang expensive now, I'd buy a new set for my eventual grandchildren, it's that special.
