This is my second purchase of the 35W SR03F chip for G2 Sockets. This upgrade doubled performance over factor two i3 chips that where originally bundling with comparable socket G2 Sockets. It is also within a wide range of capable 35W G2 Sockets CPUs with the same instruction set. Well worth checking out for your future duel core upgrades. A few tools, time, patients, a good repair manual, and some thermal paste can go a long way.

I have an older Dell E5420 running W10 and replaced an i3 with this i7 and also went from 2g to 8g of memory, both very affordable ($40 each). This turned a slug of a computer into something I'm very happy with. Everything from booting up to opening apps to surfing is really quick. The only thing left is to get an SSD. Operating system (Windows 7) so far is smooth and without any instability. To install, I followed an N4110 guide on iFixit for motherboard replacement. I bought this processor as a drop-in replacement for the original i3-2350 processor that was installed on my HP ProBook 4330s. With this i7 processor, I feel that "new life" struck my laptop which will enable me to use it for some more time. The downside is that this processor seems to run hotter than the original, making the already loud fan run loud more often, but that is understandable and not a problem with the item.
