I replaced a 10 year old XL large pet safe door because they changed the design for the replacement flap and could not locate old style flap.. New door works ok,,but difficult to install,,compared to old style. Also flap not as transparent as old style,,but works fine. .

the instruction are way off on the extra large. the extra large templet is much bigger than the doggie door opening. i measured and cut per the instructions and the opening cut for the door was an inch wider all around the door did not fit snug. pet safe does not know how to measure for the rite templet. im just upset because after following instructions to the t i now need to purchase a new door. use caution when purchaseing pet safe.

The door itself is great but I don't care for the method of covering/securing the door and building: The door cove is too thin and flimsy, has to thermal value to keep cold or heat out The door has no method of providing security. Can easily be removed or broken into to allow an intruder to penetrate the buildin. I can envision methods of inexpensively improving the above "weakneses" to provide a better product

This is NOT a PetSafe pet door, dog door, this is an Ideal brand and the flap size is much smaller then the XL Petsafe door. Please stop incorrectly advertising your product. Ideal XL pet door flap is a full size smaller then PetSafe XL doors. ALL Ideal pet/dog doors are one size smaller then the same size PetSmart. Size comparison: an Ideal Large is approx. equal to a PetSafe Medium, an Ideal XL is equal in size to a PetSafe Large. An Ideal Super Lg is equal to a PetSafe XL. Your incorrect advertising of this product as PetSafe is WRONG, a lie, meant to confuse customers and get them to buy your less expensive product that is too small!

I do not recommend unskilled person to try the installation . It is very nice cosmetically and well constructed. I find one fault with the product. The unit needs stainless steel screws and not flimsy nylon screws to hold the halves together. Gary !!
