Works well for older PS2 devices
This is great for a newer motherboard without PS2 ports. I pair it with my old PS2 keyboard and it works flawlessly. I may pair with an older PS2 mouse also. You get both ports with a single USB port. Would recommend this brand. The only issue I have is sometime when I boot and need to get into my BIOS it doesn't turn on and I get an error that no keyboard attached. Works great with my 8-port KVM switch
I have an old KVM switch which is pretty finicky about the keyboard & mouse ports. When plugged in directly to those ports I sometimes lose connection when switching to those ports. Perfect for my application
I have an old-but-good Microsoft ergonomic keyboard and an old-but-good Logitech trackball, both with PS2 connectors. I use them with an old-but-good KVM switch with PS2 connections to my all of my old-but-good computers. Now I just installed a new-fangled motherboard that has only a single PS2 connector. Another adapter that I have tried (basically a PS2 splitter) worked OK for the mouse, but not the keyboard. This adapter is perfect for both. Just plug the PS2 connectors from the KVM switch at the position for this computer, plug this unit's USB-A connector to the motherboard and it works. Unexpectedly Good for the price.
Under preliminary testing right now. It is paired with an older Genius NetMouse and a Compaq Model 5107 Keyboard. I've used previous adapters over a decade ago and they all had a multitude of issues. This one from Monoprice not only worked proper right off but there are no untoward issues with double typing or latency. The mouse works proper and all buttons are well mapped. So far this is well recommended and had renewed my faith in these adapters. Tested platform so far is an Asrock 970M Pro3 motherboard using both Windows 7N and Windows 10N.
