    I purchased this press to do small jobs in my garage at home. For the money, this is an excellent tool and has a feature that my larger version (**** Brand) does not offer. I would say the larger version is a safe bet as well.

    Good for the money

    So I was in the market for an arbor press and I’m a...well...frugal guy. Plus this was for something that is a hobby so it’s not like I want the best for my business. Anyway, I settled on this press from Zoro. It came well packaged. The arbor was upside down (as mentioned in other reviews) with the arbor hole at the top, but with little effort it was swapped around. Then I noticed the depth of the arbor hole was too deep for the magnet inside to Work for the eyelet dies I bought from Knifekits so to the grinder/dremel cutoff blade I went. About 15 minutes later all done. Next, I ground off the bottom two teeth on the arbor to make it a ratcheting system (I need to go back and grind a little more...gets stuck on one of the teeth). Also the plate have tapered openings so the bottom die won’t sit correctly. I’m going to have to drill out the plate or make a plate for the die to rest. With the die sitting on the plate, I pressed the first string of eyelets. I may need to make a longer bar for it to be a bit easier, but still not a lot of force needed. All in all a good tool!

    Palmgrem 61051 Arbor Press 1/2 Ton

    This small Arbor press is a good value for the money. It’s finished out nicely and works well. Nicer than the comparable Harbor Freight Model, especially since you can change tips at the end of the ram. I repair telegraph keys and the ability to change custom made ram tips helps tremendously.     Heavy and solid seems it well last a life time for what I am gonna be using it for.

    Great for leather work

    Purchased to use with Tandy Leather stamps and snap sets. It works great with the Tandy press dies. Had to make a small flat steel table to have a strong flat surface for stamping. The lower plate that came with the press worked with the line snaps and punch die kits. Very happy with the purchase.

    Good small press for leatherworking

    Press is high quality and good for leatherworking, although 1000 lb is slightly anemic for larger stamps. Mine was shipped with geared shaft upside down, which I fixed in 10 minutes.
