  • It's an Xray

Xray has never been known for its lie-like bodies like Tamiya. The deal set is minimal so rely on your imagination and painting skills. The decals will be useless in that department. You would think a quality product that spends so much time in R&D would produce a sheet of decals worthy of the Xray name but you're on your own when it comes to this. IMO Tamiya makes the best and most realistic type bodies and on my Serpent you drop in almost any Tamiya 104 body and decal set and have an amazing looking car. Mine came out ok but I have 30 years’ experience with R/C when the decals and bodies were even better back then. It seems you have a company that got too big to quick and by shoving a new version of a particular car every year, shortcuts must be made (I guess). Xray bodies are priced reasonably so I guess you get what you pay for. But be ready to have a very inventive mind when it comes to a paint color scheme and try not to be too hard on the body or else your back to step one on a new one. In general I don't think quantity over quality ever works, certainly not in the case of these bodies. In fact I hate to say this but if a third party body fit easily (like the industry standard Tamiya F104), I fell the should have left it out of the box completely and saved the consumer a few bucks. In fact, that's what made me suspicious to begin with - the inclusion of a body. I had a Serpent F110 which did not come with a body but the Tamiya F104 fit like a glove and looks awesome. Other than that I am still not crazy about pumping a new car out every year. Of course they had to use the yeqars as model numbers or else we would be up to T2030 by now!
