The product works excellent after I had to buy a second one. Unfortunately I did not watch what I was doing and hooked up the module incorrectly and messed up the first one. This was completely my own fault. (Not the product). They do give you a general idea on how to hook it up. Because of different years, makes, models, and security systems, I would advise to do your homework before you start cutting wires. I probably made it more complicated for myself than the average person would, but was very happy in the end with the results. Try to familiarize yourself with the whole thing first before you tackle this. GET THE RIGHT WIRING DIAGRAM. It took me more time, but was well worth it. You have to be patient. You need to find out if the fuel enable circuit is 30 or 50 Hz. Don’t forget, you have to take care of the starter relay circuit. You have to jump the relay circuit or bypass it all together. I personally reused the pass key 2 module box and connector. I desoldered the original circuit board module , bypassed the starter relay circuit on the connector , and soldered the new bypass module on the pass key 2 connector . The way I set it up, you plug it in to the existing security module connector and the car works great. By putting this bypass module in you are completely getting rid of the resistor key set up and the security system. Now when you do this, you DO NOT have ANY SECURITY at all. Someone can steal your car or truck a little easier, but with how much trouble we have had with the security system, we’ll take that chance. There is nothing worse than to get in your own vehicle and wonder “Will my car start this time?” In the end, EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!Read full review

FYI also works on 1988 Trans Am GTA; GTA incorporated VATS on production builds starting in Dec 1987. VATS frequency signal wire for my 1988 is a dark blue wire at ECM terminal B6; 30 Hz signal required. As noted, you need to bypass the starter enable relay also to eliminate VATs ability to impact engine starting.

With a bypass on the starter relay and this vast bypass module this 99 Camaro 3800 V6 manual runs for longer than 3 seconds for the first time in 4 years. Couldn’t be happier.
