I've been an avid kite flyer for some 40+ years and this classic harkens back to my 70s roots! Always known to fly in the lightest of winds, it's made even more fun by those big old eyes staring down at you. This is, and always has been a level flyer meaning that you're going to be looking straight up while flying it. However such a joy to fly for anyone who just wants to bust out a kite and GO! Never disappoints. So great for kids and others new to kite flying. Or just old cats like me who remember it being a 70s staple anywhere there was a kite to be flown. Assembly is easy and essentially flies itself. A great and classic kite that will always hold a special place in my heart and will never disappoint! If you need a kite guaranteed to fly, and fly well, this one checks all those boxes.

After growing up with Gayla Kites in the late 70’s and early 80’s, imagine my surprise as I cracked open a recently manufactured Gayla Kite for my three and a half year old to enjoy for the first time. Where do I start? Everything from the packaging to the actual kite is absolutely and positively cheap and flimsy. This was nothing like the Gayla Kites from back in the day. One of the things I loved most about the old Gayla Kites was the absolute ease of assembly and being airborne nearly instantly. This new one was nearly impossible to fly. It would go up and almost as nearly fast would veer to the left straight into the ground. The old kites would go up with little to no effort and you would have to wrestle it to the ground to bring it home. As this retailer offered a buy one get one deal, now I see why as the kites are complete garbage, we cracked open the other one and experienced the exact same thing but this time the kite would dive right. After about an hour of multiple launches, we finally got the kite off the ground. Even at this point, at nearly 400 feet up, it was all over the place. The old kites, due to their robust construction were rock solid steady in the sky. Anyways, I’m going to try a 70’s vintage Gayla, pay way too much for it, and we will have a much better time. My grandson and I flew this kite up around 500ft. It flew great and it went up fast and came down in tack with no rips. I don't think the kite is constructed as well as the older ones but still a great kite. Would buy again

This is not like your old baby bat kites. It is cheap and a complete waste of money.
