This Poulan Pro string trimmer has a gas powered, two stroke, 28-cubic centimeter motor. It has the curved shaft design to provide better user control. With a 16-inch cut, this trimmer will easily handle most lawn trimming jobs. An air purge system removes air from the fuel system to make starting easier. Starts 1st time every time!
I've tried 2 big box hardware outlets gas weed trimmers since moving in my home 10 years ago. First one was heavy, too powerful and vibrated leaving my arms sore but it did the job. Second one lasted 2 years before carburetor gummed up and I replaced the carburetor but it only lasted 2 more years and came apart. This Poulan PP28CD seems well balanced and easy on the arms, not that heavy, it's smooth and not much vibration at all, it starts easy enough and seems to do the job. I've used the blower attachment, straight shaft attachment, and curved shaft all worked well. I don't like the .080 line because it breaks too easy but I may have some cheap line also. I'm only using the pre-mix gas/oil because I've had so much trouble with carburetors in the past and it seems to work very well. Bottom line the trimmer is a good buy for the money!! I didn't rate it 5 stars because I don't like the release button above the trigger that has to be pushed with the trigger because it just feels awkward. I guess its a safety to keep you from pushing trigger by accident???Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Deal
Great price, very fast shipment. It's brand new in un-opened box. Goes together very easy, I filled it with gas (50:1 mix) followed included directions, started on 5th pull. Runs very good and idles without a problem, cuts grass too, Wow! U can move string cutter to make it 17" swath instead of 16" CONS: Warranty says: engine not included, huh-what? Box says use .080 line, includes spool w/only small amount of string, maybe 3 feet. Very nice trimmer.
I have several Poulan products. Chainsaws and blowers. All work great and decent quality. But be prepared to tune carb to your climate. Mine ran too lean and I had to richen the low speed fuel mixture screw a half a turn. Turned up the idle a little. I love the new style choke!!! Works awesome. Starts easy. Very well balanced.
