Pretty basic keyboard (buttons/features, not mechanical) from first sight. But does come with media controls, a designated sleep button, calculator, search button and a homepage button. The keyboard itself is pretty thick and durable, it doesn't feel cheap at all! It does raise up at an angle for easier viability as well. Keys are pretty quiet-average compared to other keyboards. The palm rest falls a bit short for my hands, however it's very comfortable and cushioned. However, the only con I can come up with and I think is a sound one is that it isn't USB compatible and uses an older styled PS/2 plug instead. It is a wired connection, but this cord is pretty long. With the wired connection ther's no issues with battery or connectivity issues. The good news is SOME newer motherboards still support PS/2 connections for older keyboards and mice. I use a MSI gaming motherboard in my PC and is equipped with one PS/2 port for a mouse or keyboard. This keyboard is great! Really good value and lasts a loong time! This is the second one I've owned (my 1st PC came with the same keyboard). My 2nd PC didn't support PS/2 so I got rid of the keyboard and now my new PC supports it so I had to switch back! There is a wireless version of this keyboard (same thing but wireless and has a silver plate over the keys) that I saw on eBay too but decided to stick with the wired connection for less hassle. Overall, I definitely recommend this keyboard if your PC/laptop supports PS/2 connections! (When using the keyboard, you have to hook it up while the PC is off or the connection won't work. Then power it on with it already plugged in. I made this mistake before haha)Read full review

I used one identical to this one that I bought used for something over a decade. So when that one reached the end of it's useful life, I replaced it with this one. Supposedly brand new, even though OLD. Couple of things that made me wonder, but 99% brand new no question. I expect it to last over a decade, which may well be longer than I last myself, at this point.

Why would anyone want a PS-2 keyboard, in this age of touchscreens? The answer is simple: several high tech stereo and video components have inputs that allow you to enter text as data. In my case, it’s a Tascam CD recorder/player. I can enter track titles about 50X faster with this keyboard than I can without it; that makes buying this item a no brainer.
