A few generations old but still better than some
Switched carriers and needed a workable unit for my basic needs. Bought a good used S3 and am very pleased how well it has worked out. The 2G ram is great. I got a 16G rom which was enough for me but have a SD card ready in case. One thing, if you buy a used phone, do a factory reset to eliminate any clutter from the previous owner. Transfer file from your old phone to new one with a Samsung app to do a transfer either via WiFi or Bluetooth. Like the phone so far. Battery life is adequate and recharges are quick.

About what I expected
Coming off of having a Windows phone that made perfect sense, I knew an Android would be cumbersome. The battery life wasn't great so I did end up buying a replacement, but batteries do wear out so that didn't surprise me. Something that is frustrating is that it frequently says it can't establish a secure connection to internet sites. I'm sure this is in Settings somewhere but I don't know where. Other than that, it's functional. Had to change to camera to Sports so it would actually take a picture within one second instead of four. Otherwise it's a perfectly acceptable phone.

Hooray for the galaxy S3
We have 3 of these fantastic phones. Perfectly sharp screens, pictures are sharp as a razor, battery life is reasonable. Phone has more features than any normal person would or could ever use. The camera has a zillion optional adjustments for perfect pictures in any situation or darkness situation. The sound quality is better than some of the newer Samsung phones. BEST OF ALL, the slim size allows men to put this phone in their shirt pockets, something you can't do with other phones because their screen is slightly bigger, which I think is not necesary. The phone reception is outstanding.

Great phone for beginners
For a beginning smartphone user, this phone is easy to navigate. It was bought for a person in their early 80's who was used to having an old Razr flip phone. The size of the phone is a little bigger than what they wanted, but it has served its purpose, so far.
