Sandy Bridge E Still Represents Well
The X79 platform, according to most technology measures, is obsolete...but only so for the market segment it was designed for - computer enthusiasts that must have the bleeding edge tech in their rig or their soul will hurt. The rest of us will find that this platform is absolutely amazing for mainstream computing and, granted the affordability of the components, is poised in good position to fall in the hands of those who demand a lot of power...but don't want to part with everything in their wallet. This processor, arguably the least potent of the Sandy Bridge-E offerings will blow your average computer user away with seemingly endless computing power and multitasking potential.
