I have used McGard wheel locks for 20 years. They are very durable. The locking portion is cut into the end of the lug so you need to make sure the lugs are short enough to recess into the rim so someone can't just put a pipewrench on the lug and get it out with ease. If you remove the locking lugs yourself prior to seeing a mechanic or tire store, you can avoid them damaging the lock key with an impact wrench.
