Not all rubber is the same, buy American.
I run these belts on my VW air cooled motors....a hot, dirty environment. Gates made in USA belts are superior to most all other belts. They grip the pulleys well, never fray, stay supple in the coldest weather, and have outlasted every other belt I have tried. I know its more expensive then other belts but in this case it is well worth it. Keep in mind that if a belt running a cooling fan on a VW breaks, the motor can be damaged EXTREMELY quickly.
